Upcoming screenings at the American Film Institute and Pyramid Atlantic with Sonic Circuits
There are some very exciting screenings/events coming up. On August 29th, I will be screening a few landscape films by contemporary filmmakers and previewing a section of my new audiovisual work shot on the Eastern Shore at Pyramid Atlantic in Silver Spring, Md. Details and program soon. On September 12th, The American Film Institute with Sonic Circuits will present a special audiovisual event with the documentary film Electro Moskva Here is the link. I am really thrilled to be part of both events! More details soon.

Thoughts on the Local filmmaker showcase and spring screenings
The local filmmaker showcase last week in Hyattsville, Md concluded a wonderful spring series of screenings and gatherings. The selection of films was identical to the Rochester program with the exception of a new roll of super 8 film which premiered at the end of the evening. The crowd was engaged, intrigued and asked some really notable questions. I have enjoyed all three events immensely and am grateful to everyone involved. Thankfully, there were no major mishaps and the screenings were well attended. I was actually getting used to the routine. More soon

Thoughts on the VSW screening
The epic drive to Rochester NY proved to be well worth it! The films looked and sounded great on a large screen. The transition from video to super 8 was seamless and quite stunning. I was in awe of Gordon’s technical proficiency. The Q and A afterwards was pleasant and we all enjoyed some rounds at the local pub on a lovely spring night in upstate New York.
In addition, Tara also provided us with a tour of the VSW which has a plethora of treasures. This is a place you could spend hours doing research, viewing the exhibitions, browsing the collection, or just reading. I would urge anyone interested in the Visual Arts to take a trip and visit the building. Fantastic time!
