Frequency at Revma in Athens, Greece

Frequency in Motion made its way to Revma in Athens, Greece on a cold February night. This was a beautiful and intense performance with a very large, receptive crowd. Each show is different and this one was no exception. There were four dancers, and an additional guitarist. Sounds, images, dancers, and two small installations provided quite a challenge during rehearsals, but we managed and it really paid off. Similar to Mexico, we had two projectors in dialogue, while the dancers moved from one space to another, each with their own story. Many of our sounds were new, and I was able to play an electric piano occasionally. Before the show, we had a Tale of Two Bays playing while the dancers slowly set the tone. This was a beautiful moment because I could really feel the sounds in a physical way and see what Atsushi, Emilia, Vicky, and Neli were creating while the audience wandered in. Like all the other shows, we have plenty of pics, some videos and a recording of the performance. Another very special collaboration. After the event, lots of discussion and ideas. Here is one text, Neli received the next day:
What we saw on Monday evening on the first floor of 8 Servion was
an addictive vortex with centripetal force
Dionysus and Susanoo
an antipodal connection of the post-human
a silent question to Aeschylus
a contemplation on the slowness of movement
a silent scream in the infinitive of time
a collective transition to the unmapped
Thank you Athens, Revma and Butoh dancers-performers : Atsushi Takenouchi, Emilia Bouriti, Vicky Filipa, Neli Poulopoulou and Guitarist: Aleksandros Mitros and Hiroko 🙂

New Super 8 film-Avenue of Olive Trees
New film I shot last summer in Antibes. Enjoy.
Avenue of Olive Trees is a b/w super 8 film recorded in Antibes, France during the summer of 2024.
These olive trees go back centuries and I wanted to highlight their timelessness, their serenity, but also their fragility, especially now.

Fragments Accumulate live in Barcelona on 11/21/24 at Convent de Sant Agusti

Really looking forward to heading back to Barcelona for Fragments Accumulate with Hiroko Komiya. Details below:
Fragments accumulate is an audiovisual concert performed by sound artist Hiroko Komiya  (voices, objects, lap harp, zither…) and film and sound artist Chris H. Lynn (objects, field recordings, piano, image manipulation digital and Super 8).
Explorations through soundscapes where memory, contemplation and poetry are conjured. A performance where organic sonorities pass through – the objects struck, the reciting voice, the piano…- and the power that results from the resonances that Komiya and Lynn seek, manipulate and transform. Here is a link to the Convent.
More details soon.
